¸£ÀûÔÚÏß¿´

The ¸£ÀûÔÚÏß¿´ of Moratuwa, situated 18 km south of Colombo is the Centre of Excellence for engineering, technological and architectural studies in Sri Lanka. The Department of Textile and Apparel Engineering of the ¸£ÀûÔÚÏß¿´ is one of the Departments in the Faculty of Engineering and is the first of its kind in the Sri Lankan ¸£ÀûÔÚÏß¿´ system.

The he Department of Textile and Apparel Engineering came into being as a fully fledged Department in 1985, with the launch of the BSc Engineering Degree Program with the assistance of the Textile Department of the ¸£ÀûÔÚÏß¿´ of Leeds and the Manchester Metropolitan ¸£ÀûÔÚÏß¿´. In 2001 the Bachelor of Design course came into being, with collaboration with the London College of Fashion of the ¸£ÀûÔÚÏß¿´ of Arts London, a specialist in fashion design education. The Department is currently the only Department in the Faculty of Engineering to run two degree programs.
